Myskhako is a former Soviet era winery that overlooks the bay and city of Novorossiyk from Wizard Mountain. In the past few years Myskhako has been through a bankruptcy but was revived in late 2017 by the owners and managers of Villa Victoria.
Myskhako was a favorite of Soviet President Leonid Brezhnev, who fought in the Battle of Novorossiysk during the Second World War. Myskhako’s cellars were used as a field hospital and bunker for his unit. When he became President, the Poliburo were regular visitors and had their own tasting table.
Fly-in Australian winemaker John Worontschak has helped Myskhako improve their wines including Myskhako’s crisp, white Aligote and Chardonnay wines.
